Fintoc (bank transfers)

Link your own bank account through Fintoc so received transfers become attributable cash, matched to customers by the sender's RUT.

In Chile, transferencia is often the largest share of a service business's revenue -- and until now Atribu had no way to see it. The Fintoc integration links your own bank account and records every incoming transfer as a payment_received conversion.

A bank transfer is also the one offline payment that arrives with an identifier already attached: the receiving bank records the sender's name and tax id (RUT). That is what lets a transfer be matched to the person who typed their RUT into a WhatsApp chat, or who is already in your patient file -- without you reconciling anything by hand.

What Atribu reads, and what it does not

Your account, incoming movements only

You link your own business bank account. Atribu reads the movements that account receives -- amount, date, and the sender name and RUT your bank already prints on your statement. It never sees a customer's bank credentials, a customer's account, or their balance, and it cannot move money.

You type your bank credentials into Fintoc's widget, never into Atribu. Atribu receives a link token that can read movements on that one account and nothing else.

What you get

  • Every received transfer recorded as a payment_received conversion, in the account's own currency
  • The sender's RUT normalised into the same identifier a WhatsApp chat or a customer import produces -- so one person is one customer, not three
  • Reversed transfers recorded as refunds, so the pair nets to zero instead of overstating revenue
  • Transfers that match nobody still counted as unattributed cash -- never dropped, never silently zero

Connecting a bank account

Open Integrations

Go to Settings > Integrations in your Atribu workspace, or the Payments step during onboarding.

Click Connect next to the Fintoc card. Fintoc's widget opens in place -- there is no redirect away from Atribu.

Choose your bank and sign in

Pick your institution and sign in with the account holder's credentials. This happens inside Fintoc; Atribu never receives them.

Verify the connection

The Fintoc card shows Connected with the institution and account. The first sync pulls recent movements; after that the nightly sync keeps it current.

How it works

  1. The nightly sync lists movements on the linked account since the last run, re-reading one day of overlap
  2. Incoming transfers become conversions -- a payment_received event with the amount, currency and the movement's own timestamp
  3. The RUT resolves the customer -- the sender's tax id is normalised and matched against the identity graph
  4. Attribution is computed -- if that customer has a click history, the transfer's revenue is credited to the campaign that brought them

What data Atribu receives

DataDescription
Amount and currencyThe movement's amount, in the account's currency
Sender nameThe account holder name your bank recorded
Sender RUTThe sender's tax id -- the deterministic identity key
Date, description, commentThe movement's own timestamp and the free-text fields the bank provides

Which movements are recorded, and which are not

MovementWhat Atribu does
Incoming transfer, confirmedRecorded as payment_received
Incoming transfer, reversedRecorded as a refund against the original transfer
Incoming transfer, duplicatedSkipped -- the bank is telling us it reported the same transfer twice
Incoming transfer, processingSkipped for now; recorded once the bank confirms it
Outgoing transferSkipped -- money you paid out is not revenue
Cheques and other movement typesSkipped

A reversal is only recorded when Atribu already recorded the transfer it reverses. A refund against a payment that was never counted would push revenue below zero rather than back to it.

Revenue and ROAS

Transfers are classified as cash revenue -- the only type used for ROAS. See Revenue Types.

Troubleshooting

Transfers are not appearing

  • Check the connection status in Settings > Integrations. A bank that requires re-authentication shows an error; re-run the link to fix it.
  • The sync runs nightly. Use Sync now on the card to pull immediately.
  • Only incoming transfers are recorded. A payment you made shows as an outgoing movement and is skipped by design.

A transfer shows as unattributed

The sender's RUT did not match any customer Atribu knows. That is still recorded as cash -- it is just not credited to a campaign. Asking for the RUT in the conversation (or importing your customer records) is what closes the gap.

The amount looks wrong by a factor of 100

Fintoc reports amounts in the smallest currency unit. Chilean pesos have no decimals, so the amount is used as-is; a two-decimal currency is divided by 100. If a figure still looks wrong, check the profile's reporting currency in Settings > Profile.
